Dr Clancy, Peter

Dr Peter Clancy is one of the partners in Peninsula Vet Care and works at all of our branches at times, depending on who is on holidays. Peter also takes care of much of the management side of the business.

Dr Peter Clancy graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1977. He initially worked in mixed practice in Ballarat and Dandenong. Peter then travelled to England to work for a year and brought back something unexpected – a wife! On his return to Australia he worked in equine practice in Mordialloc for two years before joining Dr Andrew Trezise at Dromana back when it was a single vet practice. He became a partner in the practice in February 1983 and for many years did most of the equine and cattle work the clinic dealt with.

Unfortunately for Peter, Peninsula Vet Care no longer carries out equine or cattle work due to the busy nature of the small animal business and the declining number of large animals on the Peninsula. Peter has taken over much of the business management as the group has expanded and he continues to see small animals for appointments and surgery. His gentle, chatty manner makes him a longtime favourite with our clients.

Outside of work Peter and his wife Joy breed their Golden Retriever (now retired) and Cavalier King Charles spaniel. Peter also enjoys cycling and travelling around Australia with his family in their camper trailer. Peter has three children – Bethany, David and Luke – who are a constant challenge and joy!

Dr Finch, Celeste

Celeste grew up on a farm in South Africa which is where her love for animals come from.

She qualified as a Veterinarian at the University of Pretoria, South Africa in 2007 where she met her husband, Rory who is also a vet working at our Rosebud clinic.

She initially started practising in the Western Cape of South Africa but then went on to work at a small animal pracitice in London for 3 years and traveling through Europe in their spare time.

Her interests are small animal surgery and general small animal medicine.

Her hobbies are mountain biking, jogging and playing occasional tennis.

She is also currently learning how to surf.

Dr Finch, Rory

Dr Rory Finch is part of our veterinary team at Rosebud.

Dr Rory Finch grew up in rural Zimbabwe which served as an excellent base to develop a veterinary career by being exposed to all kinds of animals from an early age and allowing the oppurtinity to have many interesting and diverse pets along the way. Rory studied veterinary science at the University of Pretoria and graduated in 2004.

He has worked in small animal practice in both England and South Africa which has allowed Rory and his wife Celeste (also a veterinarian working at the Dromana and Rye Beach clinics) to travel extensively through Africa and Europe.

Rory and Celeste were attracted to the Mornington Peninsula by the outdoor lifestyle.

Rory's hobbies include running, hiking, mountain biking and playing tennis.

Dr Lethlean, Stacey

Dr Stacey Lethlean works part time at the Rye Beach and Rosebud clinics. Stacey speaks Greek, which is a great help for our Greek-speaking customers.

Dr Stacey Lethlean graduated from the University of Melbourne in the same year as her husband, Dr Mark Lethlean of our East Mornington Clinic. She was one of the original veterinarians at the Pearcedale Animal Aid and has been working at the Rosebud Clinic since 1995. She is at Rosebud Veterinary Clinic every second Saturday and at Rye Beach Vet Hopsital every Monday.

Stacey and Mark enjoy travelling around Austraila camping, surfing and fishing with their family. They have two daughters, a Jack Russel terrier Trudi, Delilah the cat adopted from the Rosebud Cat Adoption Centre as a sickly kitten (she is quite healthy now) and Fluffy the green tree frog who hitched a ride from Queensland on the bottom of a customer's car.

Stacey has a great sense of humour and easygoing nature that makes her popular with both pets and thier owners.

Dr Maughan, Vanessa

Dr Vanessa Maughan works at our East Mornington and Rosebud clinics and has a interest in ultrasonography and radiography.

Dr Vanessa Maughan grew up on the Mornington Peninsula in Balnarring and attended Woodleigh High School. From there she entered the veterinary science degree at the University of Melbourne and graduated in 1992.

Initially Vanessa worked in mixed animal practices in Bendigo, Castlemaine and Romsey, seeing a mix of horses, cattle, sheep and companion animals. After five years she moved back home to the Mornington Peninsula and started working with us at our East Mornington Clinic. Vanessa fast became a great asset to our clinic and a favourite with the clients she sees.

Vanessa completed distance education courses in radiology and ultrasonography, which has made her our resident expert. You may find your pet's X-rays are forwarded to her for her opinion or that your pet is booked in with her for an ultrasound to ensure the best results possible.

In her spare time Vanessa enjoys yoga, gardening and playing with her children. Vanessa’s husband works for a pharmaceutical company in Hastings.

Vanessa has just returned to full-time work with us – after maternity leave and part-time work now that her lovely children, Declan and Bridget, have reached school age. We are very excited to have Vanessa and her expertise back full-time.
