Cadbury is the Dromana clinic cat

Cabury is the Dromana Veterinary Hospital clinic cat.

Cadbury was initally a stray cat from the community animal shelter who came to enter our cat adoption program. It wasn't long, however, before she won our hearts and became our resident clinic cat. She is a 10-year-old Siamese who loves nothing more than a good cuddle, but watch out if you stop patting her as she may give you a quick tap to keep going. She has a very interesting meow, so when you meet her, be sure to get her talking.

Collis, Imogene

I grew up in Sydney and graduated with a Bachelor of veterinary science from the University of Sydney in 1999.

After 1 year of working in a small animal practice in castle Hill I moved to Melbourne in 2001. This was initially only going to be for a year before leaving to travel overseas but I met my husband Mitchell and have been here ever since.

I worked at Karingal vet Hospital for 7 years and briefly at Ringwood vet clinic in between having my 2 sons.

We have 2 sons Owen, 3 years and Callum, 1 year old.

We also have 2 dogs Sydney cattle dog and Melbourne jack russel terrier.

My interest professionally is small animal medicine and I completed a post graduate course internal medicine problem solving in 2005.

When I get the chance I love running. Before having the kids I completed the Canberra marathon and have run most of the major fun runs in Australia. I have a T shirt collection to prove it.

Currently Mitchell and I are building our dream home in mount Martha. The house plans were designed by a company specialise in energy efficient homes so we are doing our bit for global warming.

Dr Clancy, Peter

Dr Peter Clancy is one of the partners in Peninsula Vet Care and works at all of our branches at times, depending on who is on holidays. Peter also takes care of much of the management side of the business.

Dr Peter Clancy graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1977. He initially worked in mixed practice in Ballarat and Dandenong. Peter then travelled to England to work for a year and brought back something unexpected – a wife! On his return to Australia he worked in equine practice in Mordialloc for two years before joining Dr Andrew Trezise at Dromana back when it was a single vet practice. He became a partner in the practice in February 1983 and for many years did most of the equine and cattle work the clinic dealt with.

Unfortunately for Peter, Peninsula Vet Care no longer carries out equine or cattle work due to the busy nature of the small animal business and the declining number of large animals on the Peninsula. Peter has taken over much of the business management as the group has expanded and he continues to see small animals for appointments and surgery. His gentle, chatty manner makes him a longtime favourite with our clients.

Outside of work Peter and his wife Joy breed their Golden Retriever (now retired) and Cavalier King Charles spaniel. Peter also enjoys cycling and travelling around Australia with his family in their camper trailer. Peter has three children – Bethany, David and Luke – who are a constant challenge and joy!

Dr Dyson, Sophie

Dr Sophie Dyson studied veterinary science at the University of Glasgow and graduated in 1999. Sophie has worked in small animal practice in the UK, Perth and Melbourne. She is available for acupuncture and physiotherapy appointments as well as traditional consultations and surgery.

Dr Sophie Dyson grew up moving from between Perth and the UK. Missing beautiful sunny Australia she moved back to Perth for two years before heading over to Melbourne five years ago.

Recently Sophie took nine months off to travel and work in South America. She volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation park in Bolivia working with capuchin monkeys and pumas (walking a 70 kg puma through the jungle!). Along with her husband she also worked with a research group in Uruguay studying green sea turtles.

On returning to Melbourne she moved down to the Mornington Peninsula for the attractive lifestyle available here and joined our team. Sophie has recently lost a very noisy neurotic Siamese cat called Miso, and quickly adopted two more to join her stray cat Molly.

Dr Halls, Kelly

Dr Kelly Halls is part of our veterinary team at East Mornington and occassionally at Rye Beach. Kelly has a interest in emergency medicine.

Dr Kelly Halls moved from the Mt Eliza area to Brisbane more than 10 years ago to study veterinary science at the University of Queensland. After graduating in 2002, she moved back to Victoria, to Pakenham where she worked in a busy mixed animal practice, gaining broad experience with dogs, cats, horses, cattle, sheep and alpacas.

In April 2005 Kelly moved to the UK with her now husband, David, where they both enjoyed two successful years. Kelly worked as a locum practitioner in many different clinics and situations. Kelly and David also travelled extensively throughout the UK, Europe, India and Nepal. Some of Kelly's highlights include trekking and white-water rafting in eastern Nepal, working in a remote charity street dog de-sexing program in northern India, dog-sledding and camping in the Norwegian wilderness in winter, and fantastic trips to France, Italy, Spain and the Czech Republic.

Kelly and David returned home to the Peninsula and Kelly joined our East Mornington team in February 2007. David and Kelly bought a house locally and are looking forward to unpacking their backpacks for a while.

Kelly has a strong interest in emergency medicine, working intermittent shifts at the Animal Emergency Centre in Frankston and in 2008 completing postgraduate education in emergency medicine. So she is cool and dependable in a crisis and we know you will find her both thorough and approachable.

Kell will soon be taking maternity leave and we look for ward to having her back soon.

In 2009 Kelly took maternity leave to have her beautiful baby girl Mackenzie. Kelly has returned from maternity leave in May 2010 to work 2 days a week at both East Mornington and Dromana.
